ETA Launched TV broad casting on Science and Maths PDF Print E-mail

One of the objectives of Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) is to contribute for the Provision of quality education. Among the various programs ETA is running for the success of this objective, the association has a project titled “Making schools effective in providing Science and Mathematics Education” which is supported by Initiative Africa/ SIDA. One of the activities planned to implement this project is producing educational television program with chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics in focus. The program targets students, teachers, families and the wider public with the objectives to address relevant issues misunderstood in the community, to bring science in to home relevant to one’s daily life, to motivate family in order that they encourage their children improve their interest towards these fields.

World Teachers’ Day 2012 celebrated PDF Print E-mail

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the signing in 1966 of the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the status of Teachers. October 5 was inaugurated as world Teachers’ Day in 1993. Similarly, now days, the day is celebrated to commemorate the 1997 recommendation concerning Higher Education Teaching Personnel. It is therefore up to us to make aware the recommendations of teachers and the wider public.

The 22nd Education & Training Congress held PDF Print E-mail

Education and Training Congress convenes every year to evaluate the status of successes in the education sector and the challenges faced in the proper implementation the Education & Training Policy. This year the congress was held in the facilitated African union headquarters new building meeting room.

ETA General Congress held PDF Print E-mail

General Congress of the Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) convenes every four years as indicated in its by-law.
The Congress evaluates activities performed by the Council (Convenes every year) and the executive committee during the last four years and decides on the general policy direction of the Association.

Teachers’ Salary scale increased PDF Print E-mail

Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) has hired a consultant in 2008 who developed alternative salary scale for teachers which was endorsed by ETA’s General Congress in July 2008 to be submitted to the Government. The endorsed Salary scale was then presented to HE Prime Minister Meles Zenawi of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the conference organized during the 60th anniversary of ETA in February 2009.
